Richard Bell (Managing Director, Solmatix)
Solmatix is a relatively new local company that designs, manufactures and installs renewable energy equipment, specifically for domestic and commercial customers in the
UK and
Ireland. From a standing start in 2008, Solmatix, set up by husband and wife team Richard and Norah-Anne Bell, now employs 18 people and has a turnover in the region of £1.5m with significant expansion plans for 2012. In addition to the development of Solmatix, Richard has extensive industrial design and manufacturing success, having provided business consultancy services to around 250 local SMEs in the areas of strategy, design and competitiveness. Richard will draw on all of this experience to share his own top tips for business and management. |

Andrew Bailey (Managing Director, Bailey Waste Recycling)
Andrew took control of the family business in Dublin in the 1980’s. Responsible for the transformation of the business, he led the dramatic growth of turnover from around €0.25m to €10m before the family sold it in 2007. Although still MD of the Dublin operation, he also manages the Lurgan based division of Bailey Waste Recycling, which he set up in 2006 and which remains in the family’s ownership. After a period of consolidation the Lurgan business, which employs 60 people, is set for steady growth. A true entrepreneur, Andrew also has business interests in GB, USA and Sri Lanka. Andrew will share his wealth of experience in establishing, growing and managing profitable organisations. |

Chris Conway (Managing Director in Ireland, Tata Steel)
Tata Steel is the 2nd largest steel producer in Europe and the Ireland operation, which employs 120 people, processes around 150,000 tonnes each year. Chris, who has been with the company since 2008, has overall responsibility for the all-island function. Prior to this he spent 20 years in international roles for Nortel Networks, helping to set up operations in Brazil and China and, from 2000, was VP of Operations for Nortel in Europe and Managing Director of Nortel (NI) Ltd. Committed to the development of innovation and entrepreneurship, Chris also sits on the boards of the Centre for Competitiveness and Young Enterprise. Chris will share his tips for what it takes to succeed in business. |
