Intro Graduate Programme

The INTRO Graduate Programme is an Entry-Into-Management level initiative designed to speed the development of graduate managers, thus helping them become more productive within their organisations. Competition for graduate level jobs is intense. In the current downturn, many graduates will leave Northern Ireland universities with good qualifications, but face a lack of appropriate jobs. Northern Ireland firms understand the need for good well-qualified managers who can make a lasting contribution to increased productivity, and the INTRO programme brings both of these themes together in a 24 week programme delivered by Parity Training Ltd.

How it works
The programme lasts for 24 weeks. An initial four weeks off-the-job classroom training; and 20 weeks on-the-job, carrying out a business improvement project/personal development plan. The Programme also provides participants with the opportunity to complete a professional management diploma.

Who can apply?
INTRO is offered to new graduates, AND those who may currently be working in a NI company but who could benefit from the skills development that INTRO offers.

What funding is available?
The Department for Employment and Learning, during 2009, has significantly increased the available number of places on INTRO, recognising its value during the downturn. In March 2009, Sir Reg Empey, MLA, Minister for Employment and Learning, announced a 100% funding package for approved Management and Leadership programmes in NI. Under this offer, the Department will cover all INTRO training costs as well as those normally covered by the company. The company in turn, will employ the graduate, providing a full-time salary.

Benefits
The INTRO Graduate Programme includes benefits to graduates and companies:
Graduates – you will be employed by the company, get fully involved in the world of management and business, and receive the skills to obtain a valuable management qualification;
Companies – will have the opportunity to bring on board ambitious and talented graduates who will work on specific projects.

How do I apply?
For further information on the INTRO Graduate Programme, contact the Management Development Branch at the Department for Employment and Learning on 028 9044 1785.
