Financial Services Academy to Produce Dividend for Graduates

The 12 week Financial Services Academy will provide 16 graduates with six weeks’ training followed by a six week work placement in a local financial company. The graduates will gain the Investment Operations Certificate through the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a potential offer of employment with one of the participating companies.

Mike Pogue, senior lecturer in Financial Services Business Development at Ulster University Business School, said: “We’re pleased to deliver training for this important programme which supports high calibre graduates while addressing critical industry needs at a time of rapid expansion in the financial services and financial technology sector. At the Ulster University Business School successful applicants will study a broad range of subjects including financial markets, financial regulation and ethics and risk in financial services to prepare them for placement. They will also have access to our Financial Innovation Laboratory, with the opportunity to undertake Bloomberg Certification to further enhance their attractiveness to prospective employers.”

Applications to the Financial Services Academy will close on Friday 17 July 2015 and the training programme for successful applicants will commence on Monday 7 September 2015, ending on 23 October 2015. Further information is available at: www.nidirect.gov.uk/financial-services-academy
