Background
Management: Analysis and Planning (MAP) enables an Organisation, with the assistance of a business consultant, to complete an on-line assessment of its management and leadership development learning needs.  Once completed the company is presented with a Business Improvement Report for implementation.

MANAGEMENT: ANALYSIS AND PLANNING (MAP)

TARGET  GROUP
Non IiP Organisations with over 15 employees who are not currently in receipt of Invest NI Management and Leadership funding. Organisations who wish to identify possible development activities which would support continuous improvement and assist in increasing their bottom line.

CONTENT
The purpose of the project is to provide employers with a systematic approach to the diagnosis of management development needs that will:

- lead to a better understanding of the role of management development in supporting productivity and effectiveness and
- support the identification of management skills shortfalls

The project offers an analysis, carried out on site by a professional business advisor, and involves up to three visits.  During these visits information is gathered to produce 3 outputs:

1. a comprehensive business feedback report
2. a business improvement plan
3. a business training and development plan

An in-depth training needs analysis is also available as an additional option.

This business and skills analysis is worth up to £1000 with the Department for Employment and Learning meeting all the project costs. 

Recognising the need to support and drive the process further the Department is proposing to offer a package of financial assistance to businesses that have fully completed MAP. The Department is proposing to offer a 40 per cent assistance rate against those eligible training costs associated with relevant MAP plans.
 
COST
There is no charge to the Organisation.  The Department for Employment and Learning will meet the full cost of consultancy which can take up to three days depending on the needs of the Organisation. This business and skills analysis is worth up to £1000.
