Mark Gallagher: F1 Leader & Internationally-Renowned Business Speaker & Author
Having worked at the forefront of the Formula One motor racing industry for 30 years, holding executive roles at Jordan Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing and Cosworth, Mark has worked with many of the sports leading figures and companies. In the process, he has developed a unique insight into the way they operate. He is currently an F1 Analyst for BBC 5 Live and MD of Performance Insights Ltd. Mark’s latest book, ‘The Business of Winning – Strategic Success from the Formula One track to the Boardroom’, has received acclaim from the world of business, the world of motor sport and from media critics such as The New York Times. Within his presentation, Mark will share transferable business and leadership lessons in areas such as Performance and Motivation. A panel of local business leaders will then join Mark on stage to participate in a panel discussion.
Pole Position Champion Challenge
Following Mark’s presentation a panel of local business leaders will be challenged to draw on their experience of doing business in Northern Ireland to share the three ‘pole position’ traits of businesses who tend to outperform their competition. The panellists are profiled below and each will have a maximum of 5 minutes to share their ‘pole position’ traits.
Sean McGahan is a Partner at McKinty and Wright Solicitors and is current Chair of the NI Regional Group of the Institute of Risk Management. Sean has delivered training at international level and acts for some of the most prominent brands in the UK. Sean and his team are recognised as leaders in their field and are national award winners. Drawing on this experience he will share his ‘pole position traits of winning businesses’s.
As Head of Danske Bank’s South Business Centre Oonagh Murtagh supports local businesses along their growth journey. Within her own career she has held positions including Branch Manager, Area Manager Sales, Business Acquisition Manager and Sales Development Manager Business & Corporate Banking. Reflecting on these experiences she will share her ‘pole position traits of winning businesses’.
Bill Manson has been involved in identifying and developing leadership capabilities in both a local and international business environment. He is currently working with the management teams of ambitious local firms to help build the leadership ‘strength in depth’ required to ensure a ‘winning formula’. Having headed up organisation development in Bombardier, Bill was instrumental in creating MLN before co-founding Podiem in 2009
